Shivani, MSC Development Studies 2015
Shivani was raised in Nairobi, Kenya, where she currently works for the British Council to facilitate cultural exchange through the arts. She supports artists in East Africa to showcase their work and share skills through partnerships with creative sectors around the world.
Prior to this, Shivani worked at Palladium International in the UK where she fundraised for and implemented international development projects. At Palladium, she was involved in innovative projects, including using data to boost anti-corruption initiatives, delivering inclusive development outcomes through transformative systems change and improving education outcomes for marginalised groups. Shivani also has experience working on off-grid energy, particularly in using mobile technology to create ‘pay as you go’ business models.
Shivani graduated from SOAS in 2015 with an MSc in Development Studies and the University of Nottingham in 2013 with a degree in Economics. She has a love for wildlife photography, all things food and travel. Shivani is keen to engage with prospective students as well as fellow alumni.
