Biography
Dr. Ajmal Khan A.T works at the intersection of Environment, Development, and Democratic Politics in India. His Ph.D. in Development Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai looked at the ongoing nuclear expansion policy in India and local responses in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, supported by fellowships from the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies and the Indian Council of Social Sciences Research, New Delhi. After that, he briefly taught at the Ambedkar University, Delhi, and at the Ashoka University, Sonipat. His research has appeared in journals such as South Asia Research, Economic and Political Weekly, Critical Asian Studies, International Area Studies Review among others and book chapters in the edited volumes. He is currently working on an edited book on movements against nuclear energy in India forthcoming from Sage-Yoda Press and a book monograph on Climate Justice under contract with the Routledge Climate Justice Series, UK. He has presented research in conferences at the Trinity College, University of Cambridge, Kings College, London, and the annual meetings of the Population Association of America, Washington DC, and Australian Political Studies Association, Melbourne among others.
