Key information

  • Duration: semesters 1 or 2 only, or a full academic year.
  • Attendance mode: full time (four modules per semester).
  • Start of programme: September 2025 (semester 1) or January 2026 (semester 2).
  • Application deadline: 30 June 2025 for semester 1, and 15 October 2025 for semester 2.

Accommodation

SOAS Study Abroad work closely with the Accommodation Team to secure housing options for students. Semester-only students can apply for a semester-long contract to stay at Dinwiddy House. Full year students can apply for accommodation at any undergraduate or postgraduate halls depending on their scheme. 

Once students have received their letter of acceptance, the Study Abroad Team will share further information on how students can apply for these options. 

Academic calendar

Full year study abroad students follow the SOAS Academic Calendar

Semester 1 study abroad students finish earlier, with their final day before the Christmas break being 12 December 2025. 

Semester 2 study abroad students are required to attend a compulsory orientation week and therefore begin at SOAS on 12 January 2026.
