Biography

Ehireme Alexis Uddin is a PhD candidate in Economics at SOAS, University of London and a Mo Ibrahim Scholar.

She holds an MSc degree in Economics from SOAS and a BSc in Economics from Babcock University, Nigeria. Previously, she worked as a Senior Quantitative Market Research Executive in Nigeria where she helped clients understand their market positioning and develop their brand strategy, helping them grow their market share and increase their sales across West Africa.

Before that, she worked as a Research Analyst at an economic consultancy where she helped companies analyse complex economic and financial issues to understand the impact on their business and propose recommendations on how to react.

Her current research interests centre around climate finance, climate governance and policy in Nigeria. Specifically, she examines the state of climate change and climate finance in Nigeria and the role of institutions in ensuring climate governance is effective and equitable.
