Biography
Hussein Haeri is a partner and co-head of the International Arbitration Group at the law firm Withers LLP, where he also leads the firm's public international law team.
He is a Solicitor-Advocate of the Senior Courts of England and Wales, with over 15 years of experience working on international legal and dispute resolution matters based respectively from London, Paris, New York and South Africa. He has worked as counsel and advocate on arbitrations under the ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, LCIA, SIAC, SCC and MARC Rules and also sits as an arbitrator. He was appointed King's Counsel in 2024.
His clients include governments, multinational corporations and international organisations and his public international law practice includes advising on international investment law, constitutional and human rights matters, sovereign immunity, sanctions, energy and natural resources, international humanitarian law, the law of the sea and treaty and legislation drafting. He is recognised by the legal directories Chambers and Partners, Legal 500 and Who's Who Legal.
He is a Member of the Faculty at the University of Rome, Roma Tre University, Certificate Course in International Commercial and Investment Arbitration and is widely published in the fields of international arbitration and international law.
