Research interests
I am interested in the politics of knowledge production as they pertain to rural Egyptian women. I explore the coloniality of knowledge and how it is classed and gendered within the Egyptian context. I am also interested in the relationship between urban intellectual elites and the construction of the rural figure as a site of national metaphor and social policy planning.
