SOAS 2nd in the world for Development Studies in QS World University Rankings

SOAS University of London has been named one of the world’s top universities with 11 of its subjects featuring in the top 100 globally, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023. 

SOAS Development Studies has maintained its position as 2nd in the world, and other top subjects include Anthropology which is ranked 12 and Politics and International Studies which is ranked 17. 

Other subjects in the top 100 include Geography; Classics & Ancient History; History; Theology, Divinity & Religious Studies; Linguistics; English Language & Literature; Sociology and Modern Languages. 

Arts & Humanities overall also remains in the global top 100, ranked 69 making it 15 in the UK. 

The rankings, released today, compare the performance of around 15,000 individual university programmes at 1,500 universities and name the world’s best universities for the study of 54 academic disciplines.
