y
Qianhui gained her BSc and MSc from the London School of Economics.
She also completed a Postgraduate Diploma and MA in History of Art and Archaeology at SOAS, where she developed her interested in Gandhāran Buddhist art. Her MA dissertation was her first attempt to explore the changing forms of Buddhism and the development of Buddhist art during the formative period of Early Mahāyāna Buddhism from the turn of the millennium to around third century CE under the rule of the Kushans.
Her PhD project focuses on the conceptualisation of Buddha and bodhisattva, and the interdependence of narrative and iconic images. Qianhui is also an artist-maker, working with clay and metal.
