Alumni discount
Graduates of SOAS can save up to 20% on their future studies with us
Eligibility criteria for fee reduction
The discount is open to Home and Overseas fee status students. You must have successfully completed one of the following programmes at SOAS:
- Undergraduate degree
- Master's degree
- (ICC) International Foundation programme
- (FDPS) Pre-master's programme
- A fee-paying Study Abroad programme (semester or full year) or Academic Summer School
You must have studied your programme on campus and not via distance learning.
Restrictions and exemptions
- The reduction only applies to the first year of a full-time programme or equivalent part-time programme
- The reduction only applies for students progressing onto a higher qualification than previously studied at SOAS (for example Masters degree to PhD)
- You cannot receive the SOAS Alumni discount if you have already received another discount from the University, such as the SOAS Family Discount
- Not available for students who are progressing to online distance learning programmes
Receiving the discount
You do not need to apply, the discount will be applied automatically once you have enrolled. Please deduct the discount amount when paying your tuition fees.
Family discount
As a family member of SOAS staff or alumni, you may be eligible for 20% off your tuition fees in the first year of your programme.
Eligibility criteria
- Open to Home and Overseas fee payers
- Any applicant whose family member is a SOAS staff member
- Any applicant whose family member is a SOAS graduate / alumni*
Family member is defined as grandparent, parent, sibling, child or spouse.
If your family member is a SOAS graduate or alumni, they must have completed any of the following degrees at SOAS: Foundation, Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught, or Postgraduate Research degree (summer school, short or distance learning courses are not eligible).
How to apply
Eligible students can apply after they accept their offer to study at SOAS by completing our Family discount application form. You will be asked to provide documentary evidence of your relationship such as a photocopy of birth or marriage certificate to fees@soas.ac.uk.
If approved, the discount will be applied automatically once you have enrolled. Please deduct the discount amount when paying your tuition fees.

Please note that you cannot receive the SOAS Family Discount if you have already received another discount from the University, such as the Alumni discount.
