Biography
Ahmed Ezzat is a human rights lawyer and historian of law. He obtained his PhD from the University of Cambridge (2022), LLM from SOAS (2016) and LLB from Cairo University (2004). He worked previously as Egypt researcher at Amnesty International and as a human rights lawyer and legal director with several Egyptian human rights organisations. His research interests include the legal regulation of religion, law and social movements and the history of the state of exception in modern legal systems.
