Capital L Year 12 Languages & Law Summer School

The Capital L Languages & Law Summer School is an exciting opportunity for Year 12 students to explore two fascinating disciplines and find out how the two subjects can be combined at university study.

The Summer School will take place in person at partner university campuses including: SOAS University of London, Queen Mary University of London, University College London, and King’s College London. There will also be online sessions delivered by the Open University.  

Students will take part in Language & Culture workshops, attend lectures from academics, take part in campus tours, participate in talks from current students and alumni, and go on a trip to an exciting venue. 

Students are not required to study neither Languages nor Law at A Level to attend.

• Time: 10:00am - 3.30pm 
• Location: Capital L partner university campuses 
• Audience: Year 12 pupils

Please note that this is a widening participation initiative designed to give students a first-class experience of university-level studies. Priority will be given to students who fulfil one or more of the following criteria: 

• The first generation in their family to attend university. 
• Eligible or previously eligible for free school meals.  
• Experience of local authority care.
• From an area of low progression to higher education (as measured by Polar 4 data).
