SOAS to scale up action on sustainability and climate change

Coinciding with the Climate Strike on Friday 29 November, SOAS has approved an initial set of actions in support of the declaration of a climate emergency, spearheaded by a newly formed Climate Action Group (CAG). These include working to further reduce our environmental footprint, including by developing a meat-free and plastic water bottle-free campus, using Skype for first round interviews to level the playing field for candidates and reduce travel-related emissions, themed events, and integrating sustainability and climate change issues into teaching and training across the School. The CAG will be inviting participants for its subgroups to develop and implement its action areas in the coming weeks.
