Share your passion for languages as a Capital L Language Ambassador

Welcome students from University of Westminster, King's College London, Queen Mary University of London, The Open University and UCL

  • Are you a foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate language student from the University of Westminster, King's College London, Queen Mary University of London, The Open University or UCL?
  • Are you passionate about languages and where they can take you in life?
  • Would you like to share your passion for languages to inspire the next generation of language students?
  • Are you looking for an opportunity to undertake paid work, gain useful skills and network with other students, staff and teachers?

If you answered “yes” to the above, then apply to become a Capital L Language Ambassador!

Ambassadors working with the Capital L programme are part of a consortium of language ambassadors from partner HE institutions. They provide information and motivation to school/college students, offering them insights into the world of higher education and language learning and encouraging them to pursue or continue foreign language studies.

Ambassadors are involved in a diverse range of activities, including: delivering the Capital L “Why Study Languages?” presentation at schools and colleges; delivering language and culture workshops to school students; taking part in two Capital L Summer Schools and trips across partner sites; bespoke activities as part of language enrichment days, and more!

SOAS and the University of Westminster are the lead institutions in Capital L, working in partnership with King's College London, Queen Mary University of London, The Open University and UCL. We operate an integrated Student Ambassador Scheme at SOAS meaning that students from Capital L partner institutions undergo a similar recruitment process as students from SOAS but will only work on Capital-L activities.

Please visit the Capital L - Routes into Languages website for more information on Capital L activities.
