About this event
This second workshop of a series of three aims to explore how republicanism shaped the political discourse of Britain and its empire during the Age of Imperialism.
It will examine how theories, languages and practices of republicanism emerged, circulated, and evolved in the British empire, and how these have intersected or clashed with ideas of nation, empire, racism, federalism and commonwealth.
