Date: 26th March 2024
Time: 10:00am – 1:00pm
Venue: On Campus
In this Masterclass with SOAS Politics Staff, you will be introduced to the concept of revolution in global politics focusing specifically on revolution in the 2011 Arab uprisings.
During the Masterclass, participants will explore key questions such as:
- How did the Arab uprisings in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere unfold in 2011?
- What similarities and differences were there between protestors’ grievances and strategies across the region?
- How can an understanding of regional and international politics help explain the origins and fortunes of the uprisings?
- How did the uprisings unsettle what many previously thought about the Middle East?
On Campus Masterclasses are subject based and are three hours long. They consist of a topic based lecture and interactive activity, led by a SOAS academic. There is also a campus tour and a workshop on Higher Education led by Student Ambassadors.
