Course overview

This webinar will introduce three main dispute resolution mechanisms adopted in the resolution of cross-border commercial or business disputes, and will include a debate on the preferable mechanism. 

These mechanisms are:

  • litigation
  • arbitration
  • mediation

The course will be delivered twice a year, in June and in December.

 

    Structure

    Three international experts will discuss each mechanism over 30 minutes followed by a facilitated roundtable discussion of the preferred mechanism given, particular circumstances.

       

      Teaching and learning

      Learning outcomes: at the end of the 2-hour session, you should:

      • Have a very clear understanding of each mechanism discussed.
      • Be able to differentiate between the mechanisms.
      • Be able to determine which mechanism will best suit a dispute.
