The European Taste for Illustrated Persian Manuscripts: 1908 to 1914 In the summer of 1912, a remarkable exhibition was staged at the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Miniatures Persanes, organized in eight days only, borrowed from private European collectors an assemblage of 500 of the finest examples of the arts of the ‘Oriental’ book including manuscripts, bindings and illustration.
