Biography
Ann Alkindi is an independent researcher with a multidisciplinary background spanning development studies, economic analysis, strategic planning, and Quranic studies.
Her intellectual curiosity knows no bounds as she seamlessly bridges diverse fields to unravel complex challenges. Holding a master's degree in organizational leadership from the University of Glasgow, Ann has honed her expertise in strategic thinking and leadership development.
However, her true passion lies in development studies, a field she has explored extensively through research and writing on the Omani economy and public policies. With over 16 years of experience in the Omani public sector, Ann has developed a deep understanding of the dynamics shaping societal progress. Her skills in economic analysis and strategic mapping have proven invaluable in charting paths toward sustainable growth.
Recently, Ann has delved into the realm of Quranic studies, driven by a desire to deepen her understanding of the Qur'anic philosophy of human development. She is currently researching the concept of "Tazkiyah" within the sacred text, reflecting her commitment to bridging disciplines and seeking holistic perspectives.

Research interests
Ann Alkandi's research interests encompass several key areas: Qur'anic Analysis:Ann is deeply interested in conducting in-depth analyses of the Qur'an, examining themes such as Tazkiyah, Taswaf, and the ethical principles espoused in the Qur'an, particularly in the works of renowned Islamic scholar Al-Ghazali. She is keen on exploring thematic and contextual interpretations of the Qur'anic discourse. Islamic Psychology: As part of my research, she aims to investigate the spiritual and psychological dimensions of Islam, looking at how Islamic teachings and practices can inform our understanding of human nature, mental health, and personal development.
Political and Economic Analysis: Alongside my Qur'anic and Islamic studies, Ann is also interested in analyzing the intersection between Islamic principles and contemporary political and economic systems. And hopes to gain insights into how Islamic values and teachings can contribute to more equitable and sustainable socioeconomic frameworks.
Development Studies: Within the realm of development studies, her primary areas of interest include the role of education in community empowerment and the impact of charitable organizations and initiatives on social, economic, and environmental progress. By exploring these diverse yet interconnected fields, she aspires to contribute to a deeper understanding of the Qur'anic worldview, its relevance in modern times, and its potential to address pressing global challenges.
