Ann Alkindi is a researcher with a diverse background spanning development studies, economic analysis, strategic planning, and Quranic studies.

Ann holds a master's degree in organizational leadership. Her true passion is in the field of development studies. Through research and writing on the Omani economy and policies, Ann has gained deep insights into the dynamics of societal progress.

Recently, Ann has become interested in Quranic studies, driven by a desire to deepen her understanding of human development. She is currently researching the concept of "Tazkiyah" within the Quran, reflecting her commitment to interdisciplinary perspectives.

Research Interests

  • Qur'anic Analysis: Examining themes like Tazkiyah, Taswaf, and ethical principles, especially in Al-Ghazali's works. Exploring Qur'anic interpretations
  • Islamic Psychology: Investigating how Islamic teachings inform human nature, mental health, and personal development
  • Political & Economic Analysis: Analysing how Islamic principles relate to contemporary systems, and how they can contribute to sustainable frameworks
  • Development Studies: Focusing on education, charitable initiatives, and their social, economic, and environmental impacts

Through these interconnected areas, Ann aspires to deepen the understanding of the Qur'anic worldview and its relevance in addressing global challenges.

Ann Alkandi's research interests encompass several key areas: Qur'anic Analysis:Ann is deeply interested in conducting in-depth analyses of the Qur'an, examining themes such as Tazkiyah, Taswaf, and the ethical principles espoused in the Qur'an, particularly in the works of renowned Islamic scholar Al-Ghazali. She is keen on exploring thematic and contextual interpretations of the Qur'anic discourse. 

Islamic Psychology: As part of my research, she aims to investigate the spiritual and psychological dimensions of Islam, looking at how Islamic teachings and practices can inform our understanding of human nature, mental health, and personal development. 

Political and Economic Analysis: Alongside my Qur'anic and Islamic studies, Ann is also interested in analyzing the intersection between Islamic principles and contemporary political and economic systems. And hopes to gain insights into how Islamic values and teachings can contribute to more equitable and sustainable socioeconomic frameworks. 

Development Studies: Within the realm of development studies, her primary areas of interest include the role of education in community empowerment and the impact of charitable organizations and initiatives on social, economic, and environmental progress. By exploring these diverse yet interconnected fields, she aspires to contribute to a deeper understanding of the Qur'anic worldview, its relevance in modern times, and its potential to address pressing global challenges.
