Her thesis explored the ways in which the decision to partition British India (1947) was implemented on ground and how it shaped the making of the early postcolonial India and Pakistan. Her focus was on West Bengal and East Pakistan between 1947 and 1952. After submitting her thesis, she has been researching on some of the popular political movements that took place in West Bengal during 1950s and 1960s.
