Biography
Denise Naicker is a South African-British lawyer with research interests in how society, politics and law affect science and technology and how these, in turn, affect society, politics and law through mutually shaping interactions characterised as the co-evolution or co-production of science and technology and politics and law. Using insights from Science and Technology Studies this research explores how conceptions of scientific knowledge in the area of nuclear technology are produced and disseminated and what role global institutions have in both producing and consuming such knowledge. Affective imaginaries activated in such institutions and the role played by international law resulted in different understandings which, in turn, informed international efforts to control the possession and use of nuclear technology.
