Biography
Dieter is a Senior Fellow at SOAS Centre for Sustainable Finance. His research interests lie in sustainable finance, sovereign ESG, government debt, financial stability, and food insecurity.
His work is primarily empirical for which he employs econometric and machine learning methods. He consults for the World Bank and the United Nations among other institutions. At the Bank, he has developed the new Sovereign ESG Data Portal and has pioneered work on novel financial instruments, such as sustainability-linked bonds.
Previously, he held visiting positions at the Dutch Central Bank and Columbia Business School.
