Biography
Dilys Kyeiwaa Winterkorn is a philanthropy advisor and PhD researcher in African philanthropy. Her research explores how contemporary African and diaspora philanthropists are reshaping global development paradigms, with particular attention to COVID-19 and the post-COVID-19 era.
Over the last 16 years, Dilys has led and established international partnerships, programmes, organisations, and philanthropic funds. Dilys’ work is dedicated to transforming dominant philanthropy discourse by placing equity, power, and wealth redistribution at its core. She advises foundations, philanthropists, and social investors about reimagining their strategies to foster genuine equity and adopt innovative, community-driven approaches to philanthropy.
She holds an MA in Education, Gender, and International Development from the UCL Institute of Education and a BA in Geography and Development Studies from SOAS, equipping her with a multidisciplinary approach to addressing structural inequalities and advancing social justice.
