We warmly invite you to celebrate the publication of Kathryn Dyt’s new book. At the launch, Kathryn will introduce her book and the eminent historian Prof. George E. Dutton (UCLA Department of Asian Languages and Cultures) will join (remotely) as the discussant.
The Nature of Kingship examines how kingship, power and court hierarchies in nineteenth-century Vietnam were intertwined with the natural world. It is published by University of Hawai'i Press (2025).
Kathryn Dyt is a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow in the History Department at SOAS.
A drinks reception will follow.
