About this event
Having defined what we mean by modern integrated logistics (or third party logistics - 3PL) and explained why logistics is viewed by the Chinese government as so important, Dr Paul Clifford will highlight the key issues faced by this industry in China and the path being adopted to resolve them.
In terms of the weaknesses, Dr Clifford will shed light on the sector’s lack of outsourcing, its fragmentation, asset-intensity and poor service quality. With regard to the catch up and innovation he focusses on the rapid progress being made through government support, specialization, technology adoption and emissions reduction.
Dr Clifford will conclude with profiles of two successful Chinese firms; state-owned Sinotrans and private enterprise Shunfeng (SF).
