About this event

SOAS Centre of Yoga Studies is hosting a gathering of Early Career Scholars in Yoga Studies, all of whom are Graduates of the SOAS MA in Yoga Studies or South Asia Studies.

This event is open to those that have done, are doing, or are about to embark upon doctoral or post-doctoral work that follows from a SOAS MA in Yoga Studies (and/or Indian Religions or South Asia Studies). Attendees may be undertaking a research degree at a variety of institutions, such as SOAS, King’s College London, Open University, Harvard University and the University of Oxford, and within diverse disciplines, for example, Religious Studies, Indology, and Social Anthropology.

The aim of this gathering is to forge a collegial network that will provide a supportive environment to sharpen your thinking, challenge your ideas, and share your journey as you undertake research. Moreover, this is an opportunity to discuss your research project with colleagues, who will receive a copy of your abstract in advance, and to share ideas, forge new projects, propose future research, and discuss funding opportunities.

Additionally, a keynote speaker will offer both inspiration and advice on advancing in the academy.

Registration

Registration is required. Please include your university affiliation, doctoral thesis title, and brief abstract of your current research project.
