About this event

Tilka is an intimate portrait of five women who meet to create an original piece of theatre amid Lebanon’s collapse, weaving together a story inspired by the daily fight for their rights.

Winner of Best Local Documentary at the Lebanese Independent Film Festival, it premiered in the UK at Cambridge Film Festival and was selected for the DOK Leipzig film market. Director Myriam Geagea described Tilka as, "a testament to the transformative power of art and self-expression."

The screening will be followed by a conversation between Victoria Lupton (Seenaryo) and Taghrid Choucair-Vizoso (Shubbak), chaired by Director of the Middle East Institute at SOAS, Lina Khatib.
