Join us for a roundtable discussion of the newly released Special Issue, Gaddi Politics and Identity in the Western Himalaya. The event brings together anthropologists from various generations and a historian, presenting a myriad of perspectives on the Gaddis that offer insights into changes in their identity, beliefs, social formations, folk music, collective memories and politics. Each contributor will present the main findings of their article, followed by a general conversation and Q&A. Reeta Purhaan, the Gaddi folk musician who is on the cover of the Special Issue, will also sing a short selection of Gaddi music.
