Dr Ngozika Obi-Ani (University of Nigeria, Nsukka)
Speaker Biography
Ngozika Anthonia Obi-Ani is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of History and International Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Her PhD is on “the Nigeria-Biafra war and the Occupation of Nsukka and Enugu Areas:1967-1979”. Her research focuses on social and political history, women, gender and conflict studies. She is currently working on, “Memories and Justice: Revisiting the Biafran Aftermath” . She has published articles and book chapters in reputable local and international journals and has attended numerous conferences both within and outside Nigeria. In 2016 and 2017 her ongoing PhD thesis won the Stuart D.B.Picken Full Scholarship and Grant for PhD students and early career researchers and International Network of Genocide Scholars (INOGS) Global Scholarship. She is an alumnus of Partnership for African Social & Governance Research, (PASGR) Nairobi, Kenya. She is an African Humanities Program (AHP), fellow, Leventis Fellow, African Peacebuilding Network fellow and Alliance for Historical Dialogue and Accountability, University of Columbia, New York. She is also a member of many Universities, faculty and departmental committees at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria.
