About this event
This roundtable, organised in collaboration with London Buddhist Vihara and the British MahaBodhi Society, gathers practitioners of different Buddhist traditions, leading scholars of AI, and academic voices from the field of Buddhist studies to explore the interface between Buddhism and artificial intelligence further.
Ethical concerns about the adoption of artificial intelligence, and the AI potentials to reshape our human world and values have become central in public debates and academic research. Members of faith traditions and experts in religious studies have also joined the conversation, expanding on doctrinal and textual references, and proposing new views.
The roundtable is divided into two parts: it will start with an analysis of how AI has been affecting Buddhism, while the second session will discuss how Buddhism could influence AI, and eventually brainstorm on the creation of a possible “Buddhist AI”.
