The lecture will discuss the challenges of our existing financial system and how DeFi and digital assets can be harnessed to build powerful and scalable networks for contracts, commerce and finance that Howladar argues can bring ethics and values back into our economic lives.

Khalid gained institutional prominence from his tenure at Moody’s Investor’s Service in London and Dubai culminating as both Global Head – Islamic Finance and as Head of the Gul banking & securitization team.

He is also an angel investor, venture builder and adviser for a diverse mix of over 15 start-ups.  With a rare mix of financial, tech, social and faith driven perspectives, he is a recognised authority in his fields and has addressed institutional investors worldwide as well as audiences at the World Bank, IMF, ECB, IIF, IsDB amongst many others.
