Abstract

Where is China going? Dr Cho Khong will discuss how scenario planning can help us understand where China is today, and to prepare for what might happen.  He will draw on his experience in the Shell scenarios team in leading country scenario projects, to examine the political and economic dynamics underpinning China today, and what are the possible trajectories for China moving into the future.

About the speaker

Dr Khong was Shell’s Chief Political Analyst, and a senior member of the Shell scenarios team for 27 years. He led Shell’s external environment assessments for country and regional reviews, building country and regional scenarios; he advised on political trends and political risk; and he took a leading role in developing Shell’s Global Scenarios from the mid-1990s to 2021.
