About this event

Join us for an evening with Yukiko Kaname, Gaymakimaki and Lily Miyata, as we discuss sex work in Japan.

SWASH (Sex Worker and Sexual Health) are a group based in Japan who aim to improve the health and safety of sex workers. Its members give lectures at universities and symposiums, write publications and educate the general public about the human rights of sex workers.

About the speakers

Yukiko Kaname is a board member of SWASH (Sex Work and Sexual Health), APNSW (Asia Pacific Network of Sex Workers), and NSWP (The Global Network of Sex Work Projects). She is interested in the relationship between the sex worker movement, sex worker identity, and intersectionality.

Gaymakimaki is the president of SWASH and has been involved in raising awareness for STI prevention. She hopes that there will be more resources within society for workers who engage with the close intersection of the public and private aspects of sexuality to survive and feel at ease.

Lily Miyata is a researcher and community organiser whose main goal is to promote the sexual health of transgender people and sex workers.
