Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adam Habib, Professor Arkebe Oqubay, and Director of Advancement, Shona Aitken look forward to welcoming you to this Alumni Reception in Singapore.

The evening will feature a panel discussion on "Asia’s Rise, Trade Protectionism and the Future of Global Development", led by Professor Arkebe Oqubay (PhD), British Academy Global Professor at SOAS. A distinguished scholar-practitioner and former Senior Minister of Ethiopia, Professor Oqubay brings unparalleled insights into global economic shifts, industrialisation, and strategic policymaking. This thought-provoking session will examine the implications of Asia’s economic rise and the evolving landscape of global trade.

This event is also a fantastic opportunity to network, connect with fellow SOAS alumni, and explore how you can engage with SOAS both locally in Singapore and in London.
