Description
Through the stories of objects, heirlooms and artefacts carried across the border by refugees following the Partition of India in 1947, this lecture unearths the stories of homeland, longing and belonging.
Biography
Aanchal Malhotra is an oral historian and author of Remnants of A Partition: 21 Objects from a Continent Divided, shortlisted for the British Academy’s 2019 Nayef Al-Rodhan Prize for Global Cultural Understanding, the Hindu Lit for Life Non Fiction Prize, Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay NIF Book Prize and the Shakti Bhatt First Book prize.
