Abstract
True Heart Theatre 真心劇團 was born in 2006 from a group of Chinese overseas students living in London, who came together to tell stories of their experience of living in the UK; and also stories about missing their home in Asia. Using the method of Playback Theatre, where audience experiences are improvisationally performed by the group as a form of group and individual reflection of lived experience, they serve many Chinese community groups within the UK, especially London, generating a shared community consciousness and care.
To celebrate Chinese New Year, the True Heart Theatre will be giving a presentation on their foundations, and will also give an interactive and improvisational performance for SOAS Library's Hidden Histories webinar series.
