Biography
George Nummelin is a part time PhD student, and an experienced music and SEN teacher. She is primarily a classical singer and violinist, but also plays the shamisen. She has an interest in many aspects of Japanese music, and plays the shamisen and sings in the SOAS Min'yō Group. A recipient of the 2018 BFE Fieldwork awards, and the Sasakawa Studentship Programme for 2019-2021, she also contributed to Olko and Sallabank's Revitalizing Endangered Languages (2021). Her spare time is taken up by metal music, travelling, and learning languages. |
