Biography

Isabel is a PhD researcher in Media Studies at SOAS with over 19 years of professional experience. 

She has an MSc in gender equality in the social sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, an MA in Global Media and Communication from SOAS, and a Degree in social science pedagogy from the National Pedagogical University of Colombia. 

Isabel is a communications advisor specialising in integrating gender perspectives into academic projects, social interventions, and public policies, with extensive knowledge of national and international regulations. She is qualified in the EU to conduct equality audits for private and public companies and other social organisations. 

Additionally, she serves as a strategic communications consultant, specialising in gender perspectives within political and business sectors, media outlets, advertising agencies, and social media platforms. Presently, she holds the position of Director at "Comunicación y Género", a Spanish agency that collaborates with various organisations across Latin America and Spain. 

Isabel is an active member of the Committee of Women Leaders of the Americas, which is a part of the Organization of American States (OAS). She also volunteers with UN Women's #HeforShe initiative in Spain. She is a member of the coordinating EU group of the Global Alliance for Media and Gender (GAMAG) of UNESCO. Isabel was recognised as a finalist of the "Avanzadoras 2017" award by OXFAM INTERMON and writes for various Spanish papers, such as the Huffington Post, Público, Eldiario.es and El País. 

Additionally, Isabel is the author of the book "Las Feministas queremos", published in 2018 and currently in its second edition.
