Biography
Lars Aaberg is currently a doctoral candidate in Gender Studies at SOAS-University of London. He holds a Master of Philosophy in Gender Studies from University of Oslo and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Philosophy and Women's Studies from University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). His doctoral research centres on queer labour and politics in India, taking contestations over queer diversity and inclusion policies and practices among and between Bangalore's private sector employers and civil society activists as his entry point. He is also working on research centred on Kerala development and gender in another project on trans labour in the neighbouring south Indian state. He has previously held affiliations with Norwegian Institute for Urban and Regional Research (NIBR) in Oslo and Centre for Development Studies (CDS) in Thiruvananthapuram.
