Biography

Lucile is a PhD Researcher in Economics at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), where she is deeply immersed in the intricacies of labour market dynamics.

Her doctoral journey explores the nuanced landscape of the French labour market's flexibilisation, a subject that sits at the confluence of economic theory and socio-political realities. At the heart of Lucile's research is a compelling examination of the unique interplay between France's relatively low union density and its surprisingly extensive collective bargaining coverage.

Through her work, Lucile aims to construct a robust theoretical framework that sheds light on the mechanisms and implications of labour market flexibilisation policies.  With a keen eye for both historical context and contemporary developments, Lucile's investigation extends into the socio-historical underpinnings that have shaped the French labour market over time.

Her research is particularly focused on dissecting the evolution of flexibilisation policies, providing insights that span the broad spectrum from macroeconomic trends to micro-level implications.  A standout aspect of Lucile's research is her in-depth case study of Orange, the entity formerly known as France Télécom. This case study serves as a microcosm through which to explore the broader themes of her research, offering a tangible lens through which to understand the complex interrelations at play in the flexibilisation of the labour market.
