Biography
Mizuho Ikeda's research interests focus on how objects have been produced and used, and their role in contemporary Southeast Asian society.
As a curator and anthropologist, she explores new ways of perceiving and thinking about museum collections, heritage, and culture with the aim of making it more accessible. Previously, she was involved in the British Museum’s special exhibition “Burma to Myanmar” as Project Curator: Myanmar, and the digital archiving project “Maritime Asia Heritage Survey” (Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Kyoto University) as Heritage Documentation Manager.
Research interests
The material and visual cultures of Myanmar’s diaspora communities in the UK: Media of remembering and identity.
