Professor Wen-chin Ouyang elected prestigious Academician of Academia Sinica

Wen-chin Ouyang, Professor of Arabic and Comparative Literature, has been conferred as an Academician in the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences at the prestigious Taiwanese research institute, Academia Sinica. 

Reacting to the recognition of her work, Professor Ouyang said: 

“What a shocking surprise! I am still taking the news in, but I am delighted and feel incredibly honoured. It is so wonderful to see languages, multilingualism and comparative humanities recognized in such a way. I can feel renewed enthusiasm for building bridges across languages, regions and cultures.”

Academia Sinica, the most preeminent academic institution of the Republic of China (Taiwan), was founded in China in 1928 to promote and undertake scholarly research in the sciences and humanities.
