Biography
My previous work focused on community economic development, sustainability, and Tibetan cultural studies in China.
I founded several social enterprises and non-profits to support rural communities in water, conservation, basic education, cultural preservation, and ecotourism. In addition to these practices, I use multidisciplinary approaches to do research. I have employed ethnography and other qualitative methodologies to study traditional cultures, the feminization of labor, and the livelihoods of minority communities in the face of modernity.
My current research focus on sustainability and low-carbon economy on the Tibetan Plateau in China. I use quantitative and statistical modeling for the research. Using systems thinking and multidisciplinary approaches, my future research will center on social economic and ecological sustainability with regional perspectives from China.
