Biography

Nina Salsotto Cassina is a PhD candidate at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. She has a BSc and MSc degree in Economics and Management from Bocconi University, Italy. She completed a second MA degree in Global Ethics and Human Rights from Leicester University, UK. Previously she has also worked in DDR for the United Nations in Kinshasa, DRC.

Research interests

Her work focuses on practices of ordering and contestation in the DRC, with particular reference to critiques to extractive capitalism and the security framework. Previously she has researched armed groups, revolutionary violence, security and the predatory politics of international actors in the DRC.
