Biography
Takako is an Associate Professor and Head of English Education at the International Professional University of Technology in Nagoya, Japan. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from SOAS University of London, an MA in English, Globalisation, and Language Policy from the Institute of Education, University of London, an MEd in TESOL from the University of Wollongong, a Postgraduate Diploma of Arts (Applied Japanese Linguistics) from Monash University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts (Applied Linguistics) from the University of Melbourne.
Her research interests encompass a broad range of topics related to language and society, language and culture, language and political economy, language policy, English in the Asian region, World Englishes, ELT, teaching Japanese as a foreign language, and globalization. Currently, she is researching the relationship between language and food within the context of Cool Japan projects.
