Victoria is a PhD candidate in the School of Law. Her scholarly journey began with an undergraduate degree in English at Yale University (English) followed by a teaching job in Singapore.

Subsequently, she gained an MA (International Education) at New York University. After taking a break from academic life and moving to the UK she attended SOAS to pursue an LLB (Hons) and MA in Anthropology from SOAS, University of London.

With her varied background she is developing an inspired cross-disciplinary approach to global issues. Her current research examines how the legacy of historic and colonial injustices is addressed within the international human rights framework and the ways this can be revised to understand impacts in the contemporary post-colony. Using an historical, feminist and ethnographic approach, she explores new ways to address the necessity of reckoning with the past in order to address the inheritance of structural inequalities and build a more equitable future.
