Biography
Dr. Yui Kanda is an Assistant Professor at the Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.
Dr. Kanda holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Tokyo and an MPhil in Islamic Art and Archaeology from the University of Oxford. She specializes in the history of ceramics, metalwork, and manuscripts from early modern Iran.
Her current research explores the reception history of manuscripts and artworks gifted by the Safavid king, Shāh ʿAbbās I, to shrines in Iran and Iraq.
