About this event
Synopsis
Early 2000, Sani Tawainela, former player for the Indonesian under-15 National Team in the Students Asian Cup 1996, witnesses a child being shot in in an armed clash in Ambon. Sani, who has returned to his home village of Tulehu, near the city of Ambon, makes a living as a motorcycle taxi driver, and sees the increasing involvement of children in the religious conflict in Maluku.
Together with Hari, a former professional football player, he sets about creating a football school to divert the local kids from the conflict around them. By 2006, the situation in Malauku has improved, and the young players they have trained have grown into talented young football players. But then Sani and Hari argue over their respective positions in the school.
Based on the true story of Tawainela Sani, a former football player from the village of Tulehu, Ambon.
