Learning and Teaching Enhancement is the centre for educational development and learning at SOAS.
The Learning and Teaching Enhancement (LTE) Team at SOAS University of London is a collective of Educational Developers, Learning Designers, and Technologists dedicated to transforming the student experience through tailored learning services.
We work collaboratively across the institution to support and elevate staff and student voices, fostering a more inclusive and compassionate learning environment for all members of the SOAS community. We are committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion, and view the role of pedagogy as central to this process. Instead of adjusting existing environments, we advocate for the radical transformation of learning environments in alignment with the values of love and nurturance.
We believe in the transformative power of education. To this end, we centre the integration of theory and practice, humanising education through the lens of decolonial and inclusive principles. Our approach engages pedagogical practices that empower staff and students to co-create enlivened classrooms that generate curiosity, connection and creativity. We also acknowledge the importance of staff wellbeing and professional recognition. By placing care and community at the heart of our work, we aim to create a more supportive and sustainable educational environment.
