SOAS Careers Internship Programmes
SOAS students have the opportunity to apply to exclusive internships each year through the SOAS Careers Internship Programmes:
The Co-Creator Internship Programme (Undergraduates only)
The SOAS Summer Internship Programme (Undergraduates and Postgraduates)
The Co-Creator Internship Programme
The Co-Creator Internship Programme is designed for undergraduate students and offers 25 internal internships. Students are paid to work on projects across SOAS departments, and will have the opportunity to Co-Create as aspect of their student experience. The programme is a flexible 64-hour scheme that takes place in the Spring Term.

We also recommend exploring the SOAS Blog’s Radical Reading Lists entry. In this project, a Co-Creator intern collaborated with the SOAS Library to curate a ‘radical reading list’.

Student Testimonials
'Getting a glimpse of what working in a professional capacity entails and working with professors as peers was a unique and illuminating experience that I value a lot. In being able to conduct independent research and collaborate with other interns and tenured professors I have cultivated relationships and connections with people I wouldn't have worked with otherwise. Not only this, but the Co-Creator Programme, and the faith it puts in its students, has given me more confidence in my own work and abilities'. (2024 Intern)
'I enjoyed the constructive feedback we got from our supervisors and audience, it made me feel very proud of myself'. (2024 Intern)
'The most enjoyable part of the internship was that I was being able to discuss my idea with the current SOAS employees, exchange our opinions and reach out to an agreeable solution'. (2024 Intern)
'This internship introduced me to a successful foundation with whom I will continue to collaborate in the future because their vision and goals are similar to mine. I've been able to form professional relationships and obtain useful advice regarding my next steps after graduating from university'. (2023 Intern)
The SOAS Summer Internship Programme
The SOAS Internship Programme is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. It offers 35 SOAS-exclusive external internships every summer. SOAS Careers secures internships from various organizations and sectors relevant to our students, including African & Asian art galleries, NGOs, charities, finance and tech companies, and consultancies with SOAS-specific areas.
