David Rowe

David Rowe is Emeritus Professor of Cultural Research, Institute for Culture and Society, Western Sydney University; Honorary Professor, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Bath; and Distinguished Senior Research Fellow, Center for International Sport Communication and Diplomacy Studies, Beijing Foreign Studies University. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities and of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia. A sociologist of culture, Professor Rowe’s research on sport and diplomacy is primarily focused on East Asia and Oceania. His work has been translated into many languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, French, German, Italian, Korean, Spanish, and Turkish.
